Double Bench-Top Unit
This unit is suitable for water of unknown quality - water from tanks, lakes, rivers, bores and rain-water. It will deliver clean water at flow rates up to three litres per minute - about six seconds to fill a glass. It is easily installed, without plumbing or electrical connection, to most kitchen or laundry taps.
The Double Bench-Top unit is fitted with two SilverSafe power packs and two filter housings. The first filter housing contains an activated-carbon cartridge similar to the Single Bench-Top model. It removes tastes, odours, herbicides and most organic contaminants. The second housing contains a very efficient ceramic filter for removal of amoebic cysts (cryptosporidium and giardia) and algae that may be present in non-chlorinated dam, tank, creek or bore-water.
Thus, in this unit, Homepure's patented technology delivers high-quality water through a unique four-step process.
- The first SilverSafe Power Pack, using the world-patented Electro-cathodic Particle Dislodgement (ECPD) process, introduces tiny amounts of silver ions to kill all harmful bacteria.
- The water then passes through the first filter, removing taste, odours and chemicals. However, this filter also reduces the level of silver ions to a level which may not provide protection from bacteria build-up in the second filter.
- The second SilverSafe Power Pack re-introduces silver ions to protect the second filter and maintain the water's freshness long after it has been filtered.
- The second filter removes amoebic cysts and algae.
The unit requires new batteries about once a year as indicated when the Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) on the SilverSafe power packs fail to light. The activated-carbon filter should be changed once per year, however, the ceramic filter may be scrubbed clean whenever the flow rate falls to an inconvenient level.
The Double Bench-Top Unit may be installed on a kitchen bench using the diverter valve (supplied). A threaded kitchen spout is all that is required. The taps may be used as normal, or with the diverter valve activated, water will flow through the Homepure unit for bacteria treatment and filtration.
